On this page
The EPG (Electronic Program Guide) shows what's on now and next for each channel. In IPTV it's separate data that your player downloads and matches to your channel list. Here's how to set it up, depending on how you connect. For the background, read what is an EPG.
If you use an Xtream Codes login
Most players load the guide automatically from the same server.
- Log in with your Xtream Codes details. See how to configure Xtream Codes.
- Open the player's TV guide or EPG view.
- If it's empty, find Settings → EPG (or similar) and choose Update EPG / Refresh guide.
- Wait a minute or two — guide data can be large — then check again.
If you use an M3U playlist
You'll usually add a separate EPG URL in XMLTV format.
- Find your EPG URL in your subscription details. IPTV Apollo customers: contact our team through WhatsApp if you can't find it.
- In the player, open Settings → EPG (sometimes TV guide, Sources or XMLTV).
- Choose Add EPG source and paste the URL.
- Link it to your playlist if the player asks which playlist it belongs to.
- Choose Update and wait for the download to finish.
- Open the guide view to confirm.
Some M3U playlists include the guide address in their header (url-tvg="…"). In that case the player may add it automatically.
Set the update schedule
Guide data covers a limited number of days, so it needs refreshing.
- Set update frequency to daily (or "on start") if the option exists.
- Some players only update while open; open the app at least once a day for a fresh guide.
Fix the time offset
If programmes appear an hour or more early or late:
- Check your device's date, time and time zone first.
- In the player, find EPG time offset / time shift and adjust in hours (for example +1 or −1).
- Recheck the guide against a programme you know the time of.
Match channels that show "no information"
A channel shows no guide data when its ID in the playlist doesn't match an ID in the guide. Many players let you fix this:
- Highlight the channel and open its options (often a long press).
- Choose Edit EPG, Match EPG or EPG source.
- Pick the correct guide channel from the list.
Tidy the guide view
- Hide channel groups you don't use so the guide loads faster
- Use favourites to build a compact personal guide: organizing channels and favorites
- Reduce the number of guide days if a low-powered device is slow
Still empty?
